Message from Our President
Norwalk Lions President Anthony Garcia
Dear Guest:
Welcome to the Lions Club of Norwalk California. Our local Lions Club was chartered on June 4, 1946 under the jurisdiction of the International Association of Lions Clubs; currently the largest service organization in the world.
For more than 60 years members of the Norwalk Lions Club have provided services and assistance to help those in need. We have never wavered from our commitment to serve and always strive to live up to our motto “We Serve”.
The Norwalk club is made up of members of the community from all walks of life who share a common interest to serve and give back. Through service members expand their leadership opportunities and gain skills valuable to business and professional life.
Last year alone we provided hundreds of free eye examinations and gave out 95 pair of prescription eyeglasses to Norwalk residents experiencing hardship. While we are known for our services in eyesight and blind prevention we also provide services in many other ways. This year we have implemented the “Lions Alert” program which provides critical emergency information to the community. We support education and provide numerous college scholarships. We support community programs and co-sponsor events such as the Halloween Festival, Easter Egg Hunt, and Santa Float. We help support youth organizations and local youth little leagues. We also support foundations that provide critical assistance with health and safety. Not long ago we provided all the boxing gym equipment located at the Norwalk Arts & Sports Complex to help keep kids off the streets!
Providing services to our community “Wherever Needs Exists”
We extend a warm invitation to anyone who would like to learn more about the Lions organization and the good work that we do.
